Hardy Brothers were the inventors of the fixed spool reel and some of their early pre war examples are both rare and desired. Whilst their sea going model, with finger pick up, competed against many of their other models, this reel was not popular and is one of only twenty produced according to factory records.
The spool and handle are made of ebonite, vulcanised rubber, which resist the effects of salt water. With drag system located on the front of the spool and plates to side and rear detailing the many patent, model, address and maker's details.
