Some early Irish patterns, probably Shannon flies, on early up Limerick eyed hooks from the 1820-1840 period. These are not complex patterns when compared to the later Victorian cousins, but they do offer an actual sample on how flies of this period. Actual examples from this period are exceptionally rare and further examples from this period will soon be published.
