Allcock's Model Perfect

They produced some wonderful reels, with their most notable being a centrepin known as the Aerial. Based on this Allcock & Co produced a 3" Fly reel known as the Model Perfect.

This reel shares some many of its characteristics to its Aerial cousin, with spoked drum, drum removal fork latch and tension adjuster, smooth brass foot, etc... but in addition, this reel has a counter balanced handle and an optional rear mounted check button.

And a very simple pawl check to the inside.

Allcock, as a company, was a very popular brand yet this reel failed to commercially succeed and the consequence is that very few have survived.

Stamped to the rear with the model information and maker's name and address.

When these reels appear for sale, either privately or at auction, they attract a four figure sum.
