There are a number of repaired and doctored Salmon flies being fed through various internet sites including this example, originally being a Hardy Norsk Lure. Created for Norwegian rivers, this example has had a gut loop glued on, original one clearly missing, and had a trailing treble added, which is typically a feature of the "Dee" lures. Added to this post are original examples showing how these flies should look as well as the head finish, which is always a dark brown shellac.
The seller of the this fly, when challenged, claimed ignorance, saying that he purchased this over 20 years ago.
